0 New Patriot 2240 Delivers Big Sprayer Features in Smaller Package

We introduced the Case IH Patriot® 2240 – our Class 2, self-propelled sprayer – to our Be Ready blog readers earlier this year, as well as to many producers at farm shows this winter. In this video, Case IH Application Equipment Marketing Manager Mark Burns points out the features that enable the Patriot 2240 to provide total application control in a smaller package. What’s your favorite feature?

The Patriot 2240 shares the same DNA as its larger Patriot siblings. It features the already-successful cab-forward, rear-engine configuration to ensure optimum weight distribution to minimize compaction or rutting potential, which is key when operators need to access wet fields during short spray windows. It offers big-sprayer features like optional automatic boom section control, automatic boom height control, AFS AccuGuide autoguidance and the exclusive AIM Command® spray system.

The new Patriot 2240 also joins the Efficient Power family. It comes with a Tier 4A-compliant 165-HP, 6.7-liter Case IH FPT engine.

Narrower track spacing than larger Patriot models, more ground clearance, best-in-class trailing-link suspension … tell us, what’s your favorite feature?

Georgia Peanut Commission sets Research Report Day for Feb. 13

TIFTON, Ga. (Feb. 6, 2013) - The Georgia Peanut Commission will hold the annual Research Report Day, February 13, 2013, beginning at 9:00 a.m. in Room 14 at the University of Georgia Tifton Campus Conference Center. The event provides growers and industry representatives an opportunity to hear the latest reports on research projects funded by GPC in 2012.

"Each year the commission invests peanut farmers' dollars into various research projects across Georgia in an effort to obtain results that help farmers reduce costs of production and improve agronomic techniques that can be applied to most all of the Southeast growing area," says Donald Chase, GPC Research Committee chairman. "Although some of the findings are preliminary, the projects are exciting and many times new recommendations or observations are announced."

The Georgia Peanut Commission, on behalf of Georgia's 4,000 peanut farmers, awarded $260,000 to peanut research facilities in the state during 2012. This effort funds 22 research projects from the University of Georgia and the USDA Agricultural Research Service.

These programs primarily focus on economics, conservation methods, irrigation and water management, peanut breeding for higher yield and improved quality, and pests, weed and disease management.

The meeting begins at 9:00 a.m. in Room 14 of the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center. The agenda for the GPC Research Report Day is available online at www.gapeanuts.com. All research reports will be available online following the GPC Research Report Day.

BBQ and Boiled Peanuts At Hawkinsville Harvest Festival

"Words cannot express that gratitude that I feel today. Reflecting back over the Hawkinsville Harvest Fest, I am in awe of what this community did to support the Better Hometown Promotions committee.

As the days grew longer and the work got harder, people just appeared by my side to lighten the burden. There were city employees assembling water lines for our professional cook teams, Johnson Electric and GA Power trucks everywhere making sure that these same teams had electricity, another team of city employees putting our entertainment stage together and hanging electrical lines along Commerce St., County employees helping us move chairs and table and keeping our festival area clean and last but not least, the whole army of volunteers that just showed up.
I can’t name everyone that made this festival possible because there just isn’t enough room here. However, I do need to bring your attention to a few. Robin Conner White, Karen Bailey, Eric Richardson, Brad Hardy, Lauren Bryant Bloodworth, Kristen Berryhill, Mike Penn, Vivian Penn, the whole ComSouth team, Liz Popwell, Carol Schneider, the entire Ben Cravey family, Chuck Southerland, Michelle Elliot, Jill Hardin, Shelly Berryhill and the Hawkinsville City Commissioners, Jerry Murkeson, Johnny Gordon, Brooks Bailey, Joey Johnson, Julie Stewart, Wes Conner, Billy Cape, Buddy Leach, Jay Braswell, Danny Evans, Audrey Evans, Benny Brantley, Darrell Tripp, Robert Herman and my Pulaski Tomorrow family, The Ocmulgee Order, The great employees of the City of Hawkinsville, The Pulaski Co. Sheriff’s Department, Roland Neel, Robert Fisher and to all of the merchants on the south side of Commerce St. for allowing us to use the back parking lots of your businesses.

As we paused to watch an amazing sunset behind the Pulaski County Courthouse on the evening of October 27th 2012, The smoke had cleared and the dust had settled. Standing beside me was Karen Bailey and Robin Conner White who truly shared this vision and journey with me for an entire year. No one worked harder than they did.

With Gratitude,

Redesigned Cab Featured in 2013 Case IH Axial-Flow Combines
News - Press Releases

Case IH proudly unveils new features on its legendary Axial-Flow® combines for 2013, including a redesigned cab and a new folding auger with an industry-exclusive pivoting spout option.

RACINE, Wis. – Case IH proudly unveils new features on its legendary Axial-Flow® combines for 2013, including a redesigned cab and a new folding auger with an industry-exclusive pivoting spout option.

“Case IH Axial-Flow combines continue to set the industry benchmark for uptime, grain quality and grain savings, regardless of the crop or field size,” says Nate Weinkauf, Case IH Combine Marketing Manager. “Now, Axial-Flow combines are designed to help producers simplify harvest even further through the ultimate operator environment, added innovation and harvest control. Every design innovation and engineering improvement puts these machines another step ahead.”

The Ultimate Operator Environment

Guided by input from producers and custom operators, Case IH has taken the largest and quietest cab in the industry for large-model combines and made it even better.

“Our new, redesigned Case IH cab has advanced even further to set the industry standard in convenience, comfort and operator ergonomics for your office in the field,” says Weinkauf. “Best of all, this new cab will be part of all models of Axial-Flow combines.”

Features of the new cab include a slim Multifunction Propulsion Handle, redesigned with controls within a finger’s reach. It contains an upgraded right-hand console with simple ergonomic controls and slide rail that allows for adjustment of the display, placement of a cup-holder and office tools. Multiple convenient storage locations have been added featuring brushed-chrome styling. Operators can stay tuned in and connected on the go with an iPod plug-in, and a training seat opens to a convenient, portable electric refrigerator to keep food and drinks cool and handy. Leg and foot room has been added due to increased seat travel space. In addition, a red leather luxury cab seat option is available for comfort during long harvest days and nights.

“We understand the long hours that producers spend in the combine. Our goal was to offer every convenience of an efficient, comfortable working office and make it available in every Axial-Flow model,” says Weinkauf. “By introducing more powerful, more intuitive, and more efficient combines, Case IH is helping farmers be ready for whatever harvest may bring now and in the seasons to come.”

In addition, all models use the state-of-the-art AFS Pro 700 display for yield monitoring and machine and guidance control in the cab. The AFS Pro 700 is compatible with all Case IH equipment, so it can easily be transferred to your tractor cab in the spring for planter control and later to your sprayer to control your application maps.

Unload Simplified

To make on-the-go unload more comfortable and safer as header widths continue to grow, Case IH has added new options to its auger offerings. In addition to the two fixed auger options that extend up to 28 feet, 9 inches, two folding auger options are now available: a 28-foot-9-inch auger that folds at a 90-degree angle and a 34-foot auger that folds at a 135-degree angle.
In addition, operators can now control a pivoting grain spout with the Multifunction Propulsion Handle, adjusting the flow of grain up to 3 feet without changing the speed of the grain cart or combine. In combination with the independent cross-auger control launched last year, producers will have more flexibility during the challenging grain cart fill process.

“Case IH Axial-Flow combine designs are driven by suggestions from our customers and designed to keep operators in the field working efficiently,” says Weinkauf.

In addition, optional powered grain tank covers are controlled from the cab so the operator can concentrate on harvesting.

Efficient Power, Efficient Operation

From the feeding system to the patented Case IH AFX rotor with its concentric rotor cage design, Axial-Flow combines continue to create smooth crop flow, improving throughput and putting more high-quality grain in the tank.

As part of the Case IH Efficient Power family, Case IH Axial-Flow 30 Series models feature added horsepower to power through tough conditions with fuel-efficient Case IH FPT Tier 4 SCR engines. Across the Case IH lineup, the same proven power plants deliver an average 10 percent efficiency advantage over comparable Tier 3 models.

“Case IH has been continuously improving the Axial-Flow AFX rotor, always setting the trend as a leader in harvesting,” says Weinkauf. “Overall, the simple and reliable Axial-Flow design, with fewer moving parts, helps producers stay in the field to achieve better yields.”

Case IH is a global leader in agricultural equipment, committed to collaborating with its customers to develop the most powerful, productive, reliable equipment – designed to meet today’s agricultural challenges. Challenges like feeding an expanding global population on less land, meeting ever-changing government regulations and managing input costs. With headquarters in the United States, Case IH has a network of dealers and distributors that operates in over 160 countries. Case IH/Aimtrac are New SPGC Sponsors

July 20, 2012

A new name on the sponsor list for the SPGC this year is Case IH/Aimtrac.

Bill Greer, Regional Manager with Aimtrac’s Pinehurst, Georgia location, is pleased to be a part of the conference. “This is my first time being here,” he said. “Seems like a really good turnout.” Bill is pictured here on the right with Case IH colleague Richard Carver.

Aimtrac is a relatively new company with four Case IH locations in Georgia, including Americus, Camilla and Brooklet that all serve a good number of peanut farmers. “I think Pinehurst and Camilla have the largest number of acres,” he said, noting that he’s seen some of his local growers at the conference.
